Golden Oldies

Backstory: I am on the SteepandCheap mailing list and receive daily emails from the website telling me of the deals to be on the look-out for that day.  Normally, I hate junk mail BUT I get excited for these emails because embedded within these gloried fliers are random stream-of-consciousness thoughts that I often find humorous.  I have posted one of these thoughts before on my post titled Happy Birthdays. The following is one I received this morning at 3am…

How much longer will we have to wait for Dr. Dre’s “The Chronic” to be considered a golden oldie? I guess it’ll be at least a few more years, but in the meantime it will have to work its way through the other categories. Before too long it will be considered Classic Rap, kind of like Classic Rock but for Gen X. Easy E, Public Enemy, and I’m sad to report, Coolio and the Fresh Prince will get lumped into this group on Classic Rap radio stations. Classic Rock will have to change quite a bit as well. Instead of the Eagles and Joe Cocker, we’ll hear Danzig and Nirvana. The generation of kids who have to grow up riding around in the backseat listening to Public Enemy and Danzig are going to have some strange ideas about the world but at least they’ll be a lot cooler.

From now on, I think I will title any SteepandCheap related posts “<Title> via SteepandCheap” or something along those lines…just a heads up.
