10 Reasons why the Cubs will win the World Series
This prediction comes without ANY warranty whatsoever especially with the cubs going something like 2-3 this preseason. But we should still celebrate because today is opening day for the Cubbies… who will WIN the World Series this season…
(Perhaps it’s appropriate this falls on April Fool’s day? Only the future will tell)
1- They haven’t won since 1908. Can we at least get a pity trophy?
2- Mike Quade represents the American Dream and winning would jump start the American economy (those of you that know me, i dont pretend to know ANYTHING about the economy).
3- Kerry Wood is back — that’s worth an NLCS pennant right there.
4- The Cards lost their best pitcher to a season-ending injury: no one likes to win due to injured players, but at this point I’m a fan of whatever helps the Cubs. The enemy of my friend is my enemy.
5- The All Star game is in Arizona. Who cares? The majority of Cubs players have Hispanic ancestry and because of Arizonas messed up immigration laws, Cubs players will play extra hard to make the All Star game and spite the state of Arizona.
6- Albert Pujols is a free agent, and of COURSE he’d want to join a World Series bound team. Hello, Cubbies.
7- Jim Hendry has an immaculate trading record. If the Cubs don’t win, the Matt Garza trade will look really bad. But like I said, Hendry is a trading-whiz.
8- The Pirates and Astros may very well be the two worst teams in baseball, and the Brewers dont have the pitching to be consistent contenders.
9- Carlos Zambrano will spend more time playing ball than in anger management.
AND
10- Urgency: This could be their last chance…the World Ends in 2012.
